Eerie Reality Sets In on my Book Reviews on Amazon.com from 2000--Before the end of Democracy in America
Like many of you, I write reviews of books I have read, and place them on Amazon.com. A while back, March 19, 2000 (seems like a lifetime or two) I wrote this one about the Molly Ivans book, Shrub...
It was so easy to predict the future that today, in November of 2003, three years after the Florida disaster with bush_whore Katherine DaVille--and one year before we get rid of the stinking bastard chimp_junta and get a real, elected President...probably Dr. Howard Dean from Vermont (!!!) I look back with the type of dread that can only come when you know you have eaten a bad clam, and you know disease is not far "behind."
Shrub: The Short but Happy Political Life of George W. Bush by Molly Ivins, Lou Dubose

Texas Politics--perfect dirt to grow Shrub March 19, 2000
I live in Houston and, like about 70% of the Texas electorate, did not vote in the last two gubernatorial elections.
No rumor or false charges in here...just a "Shrub" resume. Reads easily and with Molly Ivan's pithy humor, you almost forget the seriousness of the subject!
This book describes the catastrophe of non-participation in politics...money buys power. Power seeks money and is corrupted.
And the only winners are the big spenders and soft-money donors--the type who can stay in the Houston Bedroom in the Austin Governor's Mansion and become $100,000 Bush 'Pioneers.'
I wanted to ask: Why has our air and water quality gone all to hell in Texas? Who sold out our air? The answer lies herein.
I wanted to ask: How can Bush claim he gave Texans a tax break when what he really did was squander the Tobacco Settlement Texas won under Ann Richards and he opposed--which was to be used for kindergartens--for tax breaks for the wealthy? Who sold out our kids? The answer is here.
I wanted to ask why he is balancing the state budget on "the backs of the poor" when he says his own party does that in Washington?
Why he signed a gun-toters' special allowing concealed weapons for the first time in 150 years...and then signed a backup bill allowing the same in churches and other places of worship? Why Governor? Because you kept a promise to the NRA when you beat Ann Richards?
I wanted to ask a lot of questions to a man who has one quality: he can trash millions of dollars of other people's money and still have someone there to foot the bill when he comes with his hand out
Bush is promising to do for you what he did for us here in Texas. Read this brave book to see if you want that to happen, and who he owes.
The book makes one strong point: Shrub pays his political debts, as did old Poppy Bush before him. And he has plenty of political debt to pay right now.
---end of review---
And the lousy bastard thinks the 87 BBBBillion dollars he just bribed, choked, crushed, wrestled, slammed-fist-on-table to get was a VICTORY???!?!?
Damn him and his cabal to hell. Damn them all, war criminals, killers, thieves and pirates, Nazi supporters from back in 1940--Hang em. Hang em high. HANG 'EM BY THE BALLS:
Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Wolferwizz, Perle, Powell, Rice, Franks...Rice got no balls. Just put the bitch in front of an international firing squad.
They are terrorists in every sense of the word. Worse than that, they sit in OUR American White House. A fucking disaster beyond the wildest imagination of any science fiction writer.
